Long County School System Teacher of the Year 2024-25

Long County Middle School is proud to announce our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Ashley Harriman.

On August 16th 2024, Superintendent David Edwards presented Mrs. Harriman with her Teacher of the Year award. In addition, Mr. Edwards named Mrs. Harriman as the Long County School System's Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Harriman will represent Long County at the Georgia Department of Education Teacher of the Year Banquet.

Mrs. Harriman is a tremendous asset to our school and makes LCMS BETTER EVERY DAY!

Mrs. Harriman began her career 13 years ago at Walker Middle School (present day Long County Middle School).  Throughout the years, she has taught the 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  

She has earned an Education Specialist Degree.

In addition to teaching, Harriman has many other roles.  She leads the LCMS social studies department/has a role in LCMS SIT team meetings, designed and advises the LCMS Student Council Advisory Committee and represents her school at the Long County Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Committee meetings.  She has served as a mentor to paraprofessionals, teacher interns as well as new and veteran teachers.
Harriman takes pride in creating positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and members of the community.  She enjoys providing students with a variety of opportunities that positively impact student growth and learning.
